2022 is the year of the Tiger and I was able to experience my first Chinese New Year in Asia. It's hard not to get caught up in the excitement surrounding these 15 days of celebration, which include 2 public holidays. Decorations abound! The streets, restaurants, and malls are adorned with cute images of tigers with lots of extra red and gold decorations. My nail technician told me this year was challenging because only 5 people could gather together each day, so they had to rotate through friends and family to celebrate on different days.

I ventured to Chinatown on January 30, after arriving in Singapore on the 26th. I was still in a jet lag-induced fog, but managed to capture a few photos. It was literally like stepping into China. I've been to some cities where a few Chinese restaurants, lined up on a block, is considered their Chinatown. Singapore's Chinatown is vibrant and bustling ... a city within a city/island/country - all that Singapore is!

Everyone was shopping for decorations!
